Makes: 5-6 Prep time: 25 min Cook Time: 20-30 mins
Total Time: 55 min
Burger
1lb ground beef
2 tsp minced garlic (fresh or dry)
2 tsp dried onion flakes
2 tsp paprika
1 tbsp oregano
2 tsp thyme
1/2 tsp pepper
1/2 tsp salt
1 cup panko
1 egg
5-6 of your favourite burger buns
Tzatziki
1 cup Greek Yogurt
1 tbsp Herb’s Crushed Garlic
2 tbsp fresh dill diced
1/4 cup grated cucumber
1 tbsp lemon zest
Toppings
shredded romaine lettuce
red onion
red pepper rings
tomato (Optional)
feta cheese (Optional)
Instructions
1. Prepare the Tzatziki Sauce:
In a bowl, combine the Greek yogurt, crushed garlic, chopped dill, grated cucumber, and lemon zest.
Season with salt and pepper to taste.
Mix well until all ingredients are fully incorporated.
Cover and refrigerate the sauce to allow the flavours to meld while you prepare the burgers.
2. Prepare the Burger Patties:
In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, minced garlic, dried onion flakes, paprika, oregano, thyme, black pepper, salt, panko breadcrumbs, and egg.
Mix thoroughly until all ingredients are well incorporated.
Divide the mixture into 5–6 equal portions and shape them into burger patties using your hands or a burger press.
Place the patties on a tray lined with parchment paper and flash freeze for 20 minutes to help them hold their shape during cooking.
3. Cook the Burgers:
Preheat your BBQ grill to medium-high heat.
Place the patties on the grill and cook to your desired level of doneness, flipping once halfway through the cooking time.
Once cooked, remove the patties from the grill and let them rest for a few minutes.
4. Assemble the Burgers:
Place each cooked burger patty on a bun.
Top with a generous spoonful of the homemade tzatziki sauce.
Add any additional desired toppings, such as lettuce, tomato, or red onion.
Serve alongside roasted lemon wedge fries for a complete meal.
